The nightlights have a dusk to dawn sensor. They turn on when it gets dark, and off when it is light. My 3 year old had a blast opening and closing her bedroom door to watch the nightlight turn off and on. It is a warm white light, so it isn't super bright, but it is bright enough you can see around the room. Both of my daughters sleep with a nightlight. These are great, because I don't have to try to remember to turn their nightlights off anymore. The lights are smaller than I thought they would be, but they really do light up the area nicely. They don't stick out from the wall, so you don't have to worry about bumping them. I came across this set of lights while browsing. I wish I had found them sooner. One less thing to do in the morning makes the morning go a little more smoothly. None of us are morning people. They are very nice looking little lights, and they function extremely well. I am very happy with them, and my kids are very happy with them. You just can't beat that! I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
