.One of my kids is really fussy about what he eats so after trying at least six other kinds of omega delivery methods, I was excited when he liked these fish. However, the Omega 3 content is actually much lower than any other kind of gummy or capsule that we've tried, so I would have to give him three or four times the recommended dosage on the label in order to get him up to 1000mg of Omega 3. These are vegetarian so it's Omega 3’s is from Flax, and the gummy is made of pectin not gelatin. These have a waxy taste and consistency. While flaxseeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fat, they only contain one basic member of the omega-3 fat family. In the case of flaxseeds, virtually all of the omega-3 fat is found in the form of alpha-linolenic acid (often abbreviated "ALA"). This specific kind of omega-3 fat makes up about 50% of the oil in flaxseeds. ALA is not as beneficial as DHA and you would have to take even more AHA to get enough DHA after your body converts it, plus a whole host of other vitamins. These gummies are a last resort for my 3YO who won’t take DHA.
