#EasyVeggieSteamer

I just steamed a piece of salmon with it and it came out perfectly. When I've used metal, I was never able to get the fish cooked evenly. The thicker part was undercooked and the thin part overcooked. I think because the metal heats up so much, it adds to the heat process. With this, the thinner section does not have to contend with both the steam and the heat from the metal. So, I simply added one more minute on my steam setting and it was perfection! It also cleans up with just a gentle wipe of a soapy sponge. I like that it is dishwasher safe. But, honestly, it will likely never see the inside of the dishwasher with its ease of cleaning. So happy for this purchase!

Note: Be aware that if you use it for fish, you might have a bit of the scent left over bc of the nature of silicone and the way it reacts with certain proteins such as the albumins in fish. It is not obnoxious, but you can detect it if you give it a whiff. I don't know if the scent would transfer to veggies. But, if you are bothered by it, you could always purchase two - one for fish and one for veggies, etc.. When I did notice the issue, I went ahead and ran it in the dishwasher and that does help immensely.
