The colander collapses so it also stores well and takes little space. The color is the perfect apple red. The colander has little feet so it raises it enough not to be in its own water drainage, and helps it sit nicely on the counter without tipping over. I love that little attention to detail. It's a great size and can drain a whole box of pasta without overage. It can also be used as a steamer, because it also has heat safe silicone.This colander is fantastic because it collapses down flat for easy storage. It's made of silicone with a metal bottom base. It's feels very sturdy and is a great quality material. It's not flimsy at all and definitely takes a good "push" to open it up from its collapsed storage shape. I tried it out draining spaghetti and washing some veggies so far. The other thing I liked is that it was easy to clean. Some colanders I've had can be a bit difficult to clean through. Having the silicone sides makes washing a breeze. For me though the easy storage ability was the best!! I love it.
