As any woman knows, having a good hair mask is essential to a beauty routine, especially if you have problems with flyaways or split ends. I have tried First Botanical's other hair masks and had good results, so I thought that their coconut oil mask would yield similar results. I'm not one to buy into rave reviews, however, so I decided to try it out myself.

As usual, First Botanicals has delivered on their word to bring a potent, game-changing beauty product to my bathroom. The hair mask arrived in great condition (as you can see by the pictures) and smells wonderful. It actually smells more like straight up coconut milk than coconut oil, but it contains the nourishing coconut oil in the ingredients list. It works the same as any conditioner... simply leave it in your hair for a few minutes while you shower, wash it, and let your hair air dry for lovely results.

I've found that having fine hair really is a pain, but this hair mask adds a little volume without weighing my already microscopic hair down. Combined with a gentle brushing, I've noticed that the amount of hair that comes out with each brush stroke is significantly less than standard Suave or drugstore products. The ingredients list is comprised of essential oils, shea butter, and of course coconut oil, so you're not destroying your hair with harsh chemicals, foaming agents, or dyes. That's really reassuring because the last thing I want to do is lose more hair!

The only cons are that it adds time to my beauty routine (but only a couple of minutes) and that the overwhelming coconut smell may make some sensitive people feel a little sick. However, the bottom line is that this does work well as a hair mask and it's a great addition to any fine-haired person's routine.

I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, musings, and opinions are strictly my own and are not influenced by discounts or freebies. As always, consult your beautician before using any new products in your hair.
